THE AUTOMATED FINGERPRINT/PALM IDENTIFICATIONS SYSTEM
(AFIS/APIS) is a computerized identification system
that utilizes digital imagery along with specially developed
algorithms to assist in the identification and correlation of
fingerprint or palm print images.
The images can be entered into the system by numerous methods
to include, livescan, camera, scanner, digital formats such as
TIFF, and remote or localized systems. Once the images has been
loaded it is automatically encoded, stored, and searched against
the complete database for possible matches.
This process formerly, would take up to weeks or months to complete
manually with a much higher probability of mistakes.
AFIS Systems narrow down search times by systematically locating
an comparing key information such as minutiae points, ridge count
and flow, deltas, centers, etc which in turn is used to eliminated
unlikely matches and shorten the list of possible matches or
candidates. Not all AFIS systems are the same.
The AFIS is a reliable and productive tool for latent processing
and identification that will minimize the time and effort for
fingerprint and palm print identification and matching, while
maximizing the level of success an quality of the results. APIS
is the only palm system capable of matching a full palm image,
without the previous requirement of splitting the palm into 7-10
area.
Why AFIS-APIS is best?
The Answer:
The system that puts 2-5 TIMES MORE CRIMINALS IN JAIL.

Why leave 50%-75%.... more criminals on the street because you were told spllitting the palms is ideal?
It is not. Such a system DELAYS your database creation, ALLOWS for more user
mistakes, and the Algorithm that comes with it requires minutiae edition in
unrealistic proportions and MISSES a lot of HITS. Experts can use the science
of Palm Identification during the final review to confirm a Hit.
